STUB STEWART TRAIL CHALLENGE

RACE 3: PNW STATE PARK TRAIL SERIES

WHERE : L.L. Stub Stewart State Park

WHEN : September 29, 2024

DISTANCE : 1/4 Marathon, 1/2 Marathon, 3/4 Marathon, Marathon

START TIMES : 9:00am at Hilltop Day-Use Area

PRICE : $65, $75After September 1st ($80 on race Day)

The race course is a challenging but fun 6.5 mile loop. In past years the race consisted of a Quarter (one loop) or Half (two loop) marathon. This year we are adding a Three Quarter (three loop) & a full Marathon (four loop) option. The race that you want to run in , is the race you decide to finish.

The Stub Stewart Trail Challenge is $65 whether you finish the Quarter Marathon or the Full Marathon. You choose what race you want to complete & compete in after you start. (So if you were thinking of racing the full Marathon when you registered but maybe come race day you have some nagging issue or you had one to many cheers the night before? No worries, you can stop at the Half or maybe just do the Quarter. On the flipside, maybe you were thinking of only doing the Half when you registered but your training has been going great and you’re feeling really good on race day. The three Quarter or full Marathon are available! You don’t have to drop down or vice versa, you decide when you want to finish during the race & your results will reflect!

*The coveted Golden Truckers will be awarded to the top male & female finishers of each distance…that means we will be awarding eight Bivouac Golds!

Though muddy this time of year, the course trails are fast, runnable and diverse - moving from the pavement of the Banks-Vernonia trail to unapproved road, from gently rolling hills to tough climbs.

This trail is a gem for those who don’t like monotony in their runs, as the segments are short and ,by the time you are tired of one surface, another presents itself.

Register early for a chance at this opportunity!!

You will follow the trail heading to the Clayhill Horse Staging Area, sideswiping the Mountain Dale Cabin Village. Head through the staging area of Clayhill Horse Area to Hares Canyon Trail. Then you will split off on the Unfit Settlement View Trail then intersect back with the Hares Canyon Trail.

You will follow this trail to the Banks-Vernonia Trail then to Boomscooter Trail and go around Boomscooter Pond and intersect back to the starting trail and head past the Mountain Dale Cabin Village and back to Hill Top Day Use Area for the finish.
